Paris, TN – Henry County Medical Center is proud to announce that Sean Taylor, Henry County Healthcare Center Director of Social Services, was selected as Director of the Quarter at the January Department Directors’ meeting.

Though Taylor’s official title is Director of Social Services, that is just one role of many that he fills at Henry County Healthcare Center.  He is the HCHC contact with insurance companies on certifying and re-certifying insurance for potential and current residents.  This can be quite a task to gather information to send to insurance companies to get approval and then to justify keeping the resident for even a few more needed days. (NOTE: Do not give up your traditional Medicare for a Medicare Advantage Plan!) This is a job that fell into Taylor’s lap when he became the Admission Coordinator.

Taylor is the face of our facility for all new admissions and families. He always presents a positive image of our facility and many times this sets the tone of a patient’s experience at HCHC.  He can be seen rolling patients to the hospital, Diagnostic Center and physician offices for tests. This is absolutely not in his job description, but he is saving the facility the cost of an ambulance trip. All patient transportation, in town and out of town, is arranged by Taylor.

When our discharge coordinator/social worker is absent, all discharge preparations have to be made by Taylor. He also functions as our 504 Compliance Officer, our grievance coordinator and our Linton Law wait list coordinator.

“Sean is the first to comply with any task – whether it be budget preparation or just something asked of other directors,” said Sandra Ray, Administrator at HCHC.  “Sean goes over and above all duties required.”

Taylor grew up and still lives in Gleason, TN. After graduating high school in 1993, Taylor attended the University of TN at Martin, majoring in Social Work. His main reason for choosing that field was knowing that it would be a helping profession. In May 2000, Taylor came to work at HCHC. It was here that Taylor met his wife, Amanda {Galindo) Taylor. Together, Taylor and his wife have 3 children: Dylan {17), Owen (15) and Mackenzie (13). In May of this year, they will celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary.

Taylor had this to say, “I appreciate this honor and I am blessed to work with a great group of people and a great organization. Covid helps me realize that healthcare is nothing without a team working together for a common goal. Thank you so much”
