Paris and Henry County Healthcare Foundation to Host Sixth Annual Casino Night

Paris, TN – The Paris and Henry County Healthcare Foundation will host its sixth annual Casino Night fundraiser at the Paris Convention Center on Saturday, Oct 26, 2019. This event gives all attendees the opportunity to enjoy an evening filled with the lights and excitement of Las Vegas without leaving the quaint town of Henry County.

The Paris and Henry County Healthcare Foundation board members are planning an event that will give party-goers the chance to use “fun money” to play a variety of Las Vegas style games, including Black Jack, Slots, Craps and Roulette. Guests will also have the opportunity to bid on extraordinary prizes in a silent auction. This year’s event has a new twist; attendees are encouraged to dress in Roaring 20s attire and there were will be added 20s themed aspects to the event.

Last year’s Paris & Henry County Healthcare Foundation raised over $20,000 to help make improvements and renovations to the Emergency Department, which is currently underway.  Every year, our Emergency Department sees approximately 20,000 patients through its doors.  Since the Emergency Department is our “front doors” to care, the Paris & Henry County Healthcare Foundation Board of Directors was excited to support this effort.

On Saturday, October 26, from 6-11 p.m. at the Paris Convention Center, our community will come together to enjoy an evening of fun, food, and prizes along with a silent auction, all in the name of raising money to benefit our cardiology program at HCMC.

Henry County Medical Center Cardiac Rehabilitation outpatient program has been offering many phases of rehab to Henry County and the region for many years with devoted patients striving to improve and reverse side effects of a heart attack or other heart-related issues they have encountered. And, HCMC Cardiac Rehab is now offering a new vascular rehab program for Peripheral Arterial Disease with the goal to increase pain-free walking time and improve the patient’s overall quality of life.

Each year, roughly 915,000 Americans will have a heart attack and more than 30% will have a second and potentially fatal event. Cardiac rehabilitation reduces the risk of a future cardiac event by stabilizing, slowing or even reversing the progression of cardiovascular disease. Patients with other cardiovascular diseases such as valve repair, heart failure, and transplants also benefit from cardiac rehabilitation programs. Heart Disease is the number one health issue for our county, so raising funds for our heart program is priority for our Healthcare Foundation Board. They have set the goal of raising $60,000 to purchase new telemetry equipment to monitor our patients in the cardiac rehab program, care that is crucial in recovery and survival.

“The Healthcare Foundation Board has set the goal of raising $60,000 towards our cardiology program,” said Michele Atkins, President of the Paris and Henry County Healthcare Foundation.  “With heart disease the number one health issue for our region, this investment will impact the quality of life for our community and beyond.

This year’s Royal Flush Sponsors are HAT Law Firm, AirEvac, Security Bank, and Premier Realty.  Many others are rolling in and we will begin listing them and spotlighting them on our website and FB pages soon.
