HCMC’s White Earns MRSO Certification

Paris, TN – Henry County Medical Center’s Stacy White, an MRI technologist in Imaging Services, recently earned MR Safety Officer certification. White completed the training course in Orlando, FL this October.

White, who has spent six and half years at HCMC, has been both an MRI technologist and safety officer. Prior to coming to HCMC, she was an MRI tech with Alliance Radiology, as well as a radiation therapist at Cancer Care Centers in Jackson and Paris.

She received her AAS in Radiology from Mississippi Delta Community College in Moorhead, MS prior to studying radiation therapy at the Central Arkansas Radiation Therapy Institute in Little Rock, AR.

“Stacy has spent countless hours studying, attending educational seminars, and keeping up with the ever-challenging aspects of MRI safety,” said Courtney Flowers, Director of Imaging at HCMC.  “I cannot express how proud I am of her for tackling the role of MRSO.  Congratulations Stacy!  What a great accomplishment! “

Furthermore, HCMC is honored to have an MR safety officer overseeing safety processes in and around the MRI departments at the hospital and the diagnostic center.  The MR safety officer (MRSO) is responsible for gathering all the necessary information on implants and identifying any threats to the MR environment.  The MRSO also plays a large role in educating MRI technologists and affiliated staff members about implant safety/screening processes, significance of MRI zones, and overall measures that need to be taken to ensure safety of patients and personnel.
