Paris, TN – Henry County Medical Center is pleased to announce that the Partner of the Month for February in the Stars of Excellence Program is Robin Brown, KY Lake Urologic Associates.  Six others were named a Star Partner in the program.

Brown was nominated by her supervisor and coworker for her professionalism and willingness to always go above and beyond.  Brown performs a very taxing procedure for both the patient and nurse that some insurance companies require to approve other procedures.  It is uncomfortable for the patient and Brown always puts the patients who have this procedure at ease.  Additionally, Brown has started a book exchange in the lobby to help put patients at ease.  She has funded much of the program herself and has a large assortment of “Chicken Soup for the Soul.”

HCMC also awards Star Partners each month. The Star Partners for February are Susan Penn, Pharmacy; Kristian Elliott, Kristy Chesser, and Leigh Horton, Medical Clinics; Brittany Reeder, Emergency Department, and Brenda Scott, Surgery.  They were nominated for the following:

  • Penn was nominated by the Accounting Department Director for her work with the changeover of insurance for HCMC employees and the way claims are processed for this new insurance.  She had to find a way to get claims processed appropriately until new software by the insurance provider is available.  Also, she worked extra hours during the inclement weather.
  • Elliott, Chesser, and Horton were nominated by their department manager for their hard work and involvement in the annual Paris Christmas Parade.  They entered and decorated a themed float that included and advertised all the medical clinics.  This involved many hours of work and planning as well as walking and being a part of the parade.
  • Reeder was nominated by a director and the father of a patient in the ER who praised her for her care, compassion, confidentiality, respect, and encouragement.  She showed empathy and provided respect to his son during a difficult time, all while being the friendliest nurse the family had experienced.
  • Scott was nominated by her department director for her superior attitude, work ethic, and willingness to embrace change.  Over the past few months there had been a change of leadership and Scott has been a voice of reason, encouragement, and maintained a positive attitude during the change.  She has embraced change and been a great team player through the transition.
