Paris, TN – Henry County Medical Center’s Pharmacy Department is excited to announce the launch of its new medication carousel system, The BD Pyxis™ Logistics carousel. The Pharmacy is the second of several departments that have installed new systems to facilitate better continuity of care for our patients and more detailed monitoring to eliminate the chance of error.
The BD Pyxis™ Logistics carousel will drive automated workflows for the ordering, receiving, picking, and returning of medications for the HCMC Pharmacy team. BD Pyxis™ Logistics software helps track medications, simplify workflows, improve productivity and reduce medication cost and waste. This solution provides visibility into all medication storage areas, enabling integrated medication management across the hospital.

The barcode verification feature reduces risk by confirming the right medication is picked or restocked. This is the first phase of multiple phases of updating HCMC’s medication automation. The upgrade will continue with BD Pyxis Medstation ES in multiple patient areas, BD Pyxis IV Prep for the preparation of intravenously administered medications, as well as other updates.
