PARIS, TN – Celebrating Hope and Healing was the 2019 Healthcare Week theme and Henry County Medical Center helped to celebrate this theme not just within its walls, but also outside its walls, giving hope and healing to man’s best friend.
Robin Brown, LPN with KY Lake Urologic Associates approached administration about the possibility of doing a drive for the Henry County Sheriff’s Department Animal Shelter. Brown is an animal lover and advocate for them, and wanted to see HCMC give back to the community through this avenue. It seemed a perfect fit to coincide with HCMC’s annual recognition. Each year, HCMC tries to find ways to give back during Healthcare Week, Service Week, and Christmas Week, and this seemed like a great opportunity.
HCMC ran the drive for about a week, with Brown the lead for the initiative. She even provided a beautiful quilt as the grand prize winner from those who donated to the drive. Each partner who donated was put in a drawing for gift cards and the quilt. Items collected included:
- Paper Towels
- Bath Towels
- Dog Shampoo
- Laundry Detergent
- Any Other Cleaning Supplies
Thanks to the generosity of our partners at HCMC, we collected 416 items that were taken to the shelter.
“Thank you to everyone for your donations and support,” said Brown. “HCMC partners are the greatest!!!”
