Paris, TN – Love was in the air at Henry County Medical Center the last Friday in February. Two of its very own partners, Kathy Goins and Lonnie Chambliss said their “I Do’s” in the storeroom located in the Materials Management Department at the hospital amongst their friends and co-workers.
Chambliss works on our Plant Operations team and Goins is the Purchasing Agent and Storeroom Supervisor in the Materials Management Department. The couple became acquaintances when Chambliss joined HCMC in 2016. After the passing of Chambliss’s wife, the two began talking and realized they had an instant connection.
Goins was head over heels after attending a cookout at Chambliss’s house where she realized how great of a cook he was! After that, the two were inseparable. Chambliss would drive across town to pick up Goins for work in the mornings just so they could spend a few minutes together before starting their day at HCMC.
Goins had the idea to get married at HCMC with all their family and friends. This is where they met and where they got engaged.
“HCMC is home to me and everyone I work with is like family to me,” said Goins. “My family and as many of my work family as possible were in attendance. I could not have asked for a better wedding to the man of my dreams.”
The celebration was a testament to the family-like culture at HCMC. Goins’s co-workers helped plan the wedding as well as served as her bridal party along with family. Rhonda Crossett, Director of HCMC Women’s Center arranged for a cake to be made by a talented nurse at the Women’s Center. HCMC Food and Nutrition was able to make a delicious punch for the guests and Craig Peevyhouse, EMS Paramedic Field Supervisor, officiated the ceremony. Everything was done after working hours, but because work brought them together, the couple really wanted to be wed onsite with those who know them best.
Henry County Medical Center wishes a lifetime of happiness to the new Mr. and Mrs. Chambliss.
