Dr. Finley Inducted as Fellow of ACP

PARIS, TN – Henry County Medical Center is pleased to announce that Amanda Finley, DO FACOI, Hospitalist – Internal Medicine, was recognized as a newly elected Fellow of the American College of Physicians (ACP) in an awards ceremony during the Internal Medicine Meeting, the organization’s annual scientific meeting, held in March.

Dr. Finley was recently elected a Fellow of ACP for achievements in internal medicine, the specialty of adult medical care. During this year’s ceremony, she and other internists took a pledge reaffirming their dedication to internal medicine. Dr. Finley also attended the annual scientific meeting to stay current with medical advances.

Dr. Finley is originally from McKenzie, TN, and graduated from McKenzie High School. She studied biochemistry at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, and attended medical school at West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in Lewisburg, West Virginia. Dr. Finley completed her residency at Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth, MS.

In addition to her hospitalist role, Dr. Finley serves as HCMC’s Director of Medical Education and Medical Director of Student Affairs. She has served as clinical faculty and Associate Professor of Medicine for WCUCOM, NSUCOM, UP-KYCOM, LMUDCOM, and ICOM since 2013 and was chosen as Preceptor of the Year in 2016. She is active in research and has two publications in the BMJ.

Dr. Finley resides in Paris with her husband and two daughters. She enjoys spending time with her family, exploring the outdoors, and traveling. She is looking forward to getting involved in the community and introducing her children to Henry County.

Fellows are elected upon the recommendation of their peers and the review of ACP’s Credentials Subcommittee. They often use “FACP” – Fellow of the American College of Physicians – after their names in recognition of this honor.
