Delta Rural Health Initiative Launches GrowWell Website

PARIS, TN – The West TN Delta Initiative is proud to announce the launch of its new brand and website – GrowWell West TN.  The site is located at www.growwelltn.org and is the perfect resource for those looking for healthcare resources for all ages in West TN.  Information on our health programs like Chronic Disease Management, Pharmacy Assistance, LeBonheur on the Move, and more is now available at your fingertips.

The West TN Delta Initiative is made up of a consortium of partners including Henry County Medical Center, Paris and Henry County Healthcare Foundation, Hardeman County Community Health Center, UT Institute of Agriculture, LeBonheur Community Health & Wellbeing, LeBonheur Children’s Hospital and others.  This consortium’s goal is Healthier Families, Stronger Communities, and Brighter Futures – we provide health education and health resources to 20 counties in rural West TN.  GrowWell (Delta program) has been running since 2005 with funding provided by the Health Resources and Services Administration of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

The Delta program helps fund organizations located in eight Delta states (Alabama, Arkansas, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, and Tennessee) to focus on the unmet local health care needs through creating new projects within the Delta communities. Some of the classes include cardiac rehab nutrition, shopping smart, living well with chronic conditions, and take control of your diabetes classes. GrowWell’s goal is to better the quality of life for West Tennesseans through better disease management and prevention.

In 2017 GrowWell impacted 25,000 West TN citizens by making small lifestyle changes. The program educates people through their classes on diabetes, heart disease, stroke, and obesity-related conditions. The programs provided through the Delta initiative are a combined effort of multiple health care and social service organizations located in the 20 counties in rural West Tennessee.

You can find more information about GrowWell on their new website: http://www.growwelltn.org/.  There you can find information about the Delta Initiative, classes and programs coming up, resources, and the different partners that help make these programs possible.
