CUTLINE – Bobbi Jo Collins, CPCT, recently earned her certification as a Certified Hyperbaric Specialist.

Paris, TN — Henry County Medical Center’s Bobbi Jo Collins, CPCT, recently completed the requirements to become a Certified Hyperbaric Specialist. Collins has worked for HCMC’s Center for Wound Healing & Hyperbaric Medicine as a Certified Hyperbaric Specialist since 2018.

To earn the certification, Collins completed 500 clinical hours of hyperbaric training, active practice experience per year for the prior two years, completion of a Hyperbaric Technician Preceptorship in a hospital or outpatient setting and testing by the American Board of Wound Healing.

A native of Henry, TN and a graduate of Henry County High School, Collins attended Tennessee College of Applied Technology when she earned Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) and Certified Patient Care Technician status.

Prior to working for HCMC, Collins worked for The Center for Wound Healing & Hyperbaric Medicine, LLC from 2011 to 2018.

HCMC offers Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy as a medical treatment for patients with wounds that will not heal or patients with damage from radiation injury after cancer treatment.  HBOT is an advanced treatment where a patient is placed inside a pressurized chamber and given 100% oxygen. The high level of oxygen can help a patient build new blood vessels, help fight infection, and promote healing. By dramatically increasing the oxygen in the blood and tissue, HBOT provides the ideal environment to promote healing.

Nearly 6.5 million Americans have non-healing wounds because of diabetes, pressure ulcers, circulatory problems, or other injuries. Unlike normal wounds that your body can heal, chronic or traumatic wounds may show no signs of healing over a period of several weeks. If you have a wound that is not healing, the Center for Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Medicine can help you. Our experts offer a comprehensive program to help patients who suffer with non-healing wounds.
