Annual Ed Roberts Caring Hearts Fund Survivors Dinner Set for Dec. 5

Paris, TN – Cancer patients have to go through so much from diagnosis to treatment, the Paris and Henry County Healthcare Foundation is happy to offer something to help put a smile on their faces. The Caring Hearts Fund hopes that its Annual Ed Roberts Caring Hearts Fund Cancer Survivor Dinner will do just that for cancer survivors and their special guests.

This event was established by the late Ed Roberts in the basement of the HCMC Cancer Center in 1989 with only a few dollars and 20 guests.  The event was then taken over by his wife Barbara after his passing.  Barbara gave the dinner over to the Caring Hearts Fund and the Cancer Care Center, but stepped into the organizer role a few years ago. She and the HCMC staff are back again this year in to help ensure the dinner is a big success.

“We are very excited to be a part of the Ed Roberts Annual Cancer Survivors’ Dinner again this year,” said Tory Daughrity, Director of Marketing & Public Relations at HCMC.  “For many of our survivors, this is the only time during the holidays they are able to enjoy a nice meal or even receive a gift.  We are excited that the Caring Hearts Fund through the Paris and Henry County Healthcare Foundation can be involved.  With the help of Barbara Roberts and many volunteers, this year will again be a treat for our cancer survivors.”

The Caring Hearts Fund continues to need your support to help make this meal a special evening for cancer survivors.  This year the event will be held at Maplewood Baptist Church in Paris, TN, on Thursday, December 5 at 6 p.m.  A traditional holiday meal will be served along with entertainment by Gary Morris.

If you are interested in making a donation or volunteering, contact Daughrity at 731-644-8266.  Reservations can be made by calling the HCMC Find Line at 731-644-3463. The RSVP Deadline is Friday, November 29, 2019.

The Caring Hearts Fund of the Paris and Henry County Healthcare Foundation is a local fund that provides financial assistance for co-pays, insurance premiums, medications and transportation to those cancer patients whom are undergoing cancer treatment at the local Cancer Care Center Henry County and outpatient Chemotherapy Department at Henry County Medical Center.
