With COVID-19, depression among this age group has jumped significantly, with one in four older adults reported experiencing depression and anxiety during the pandemic. Join us on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at 12 Noon as the Henry County Healthcare Activities Team address mental health in the older population and what the team has been doing to keep their residents happy and laughing during a very difficult time. Friday, May 7 Paris Kroger and Lakeway IGA 8 a.m. to 12 Noon One in five people will suffer from mental illness or substance abuse during their lifetime. During May, we want to #SilencetheShameTN and provide resources to help those who suffer in silence. Pick up a goodie bag of handouts and freebies. Henry County UT Extension, Henry County Family Resource Center, Henry County Health Department, and the Henry County Prevention Coalition are partners in this program. Additionally, HCMC will be delivering goodie bags to the local skilled are and assisted living facilities in Henry County to promote Older Adult Mental Health Awareness Month. The entire community is invited toattend and recognize our partners and our patients and their families. There will also be a proclamation signing for Nurses Week and Healthcare Week. *Patients were in HCMC from March 1, 2020 to Feb. 28, 2021. *Rain Day is Tuesday, May 11 at 6:30 p.m.
