Senior Stars Screenings
9:00am - 11:00am
Thursday, June 7, 2018 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. HCMC Classrooms 2 & 3 This event is for those who are age 55 and over and are members of the Senior Stars Program. Screenings include lipid panel, glucose, blood pressure, osteoporosis screening, foot care, balance screening and hearing screening. Nutritionist is on hand to answer questions. The cost to join Senior Stars is $10 a year and the screenings are offered quarterly to members during the quarter of their birthday month. You must pre-register to attend because a continental breakfast is served following the screening. An 8 hour fast (no food or drink) is required to have the screening. This particular screening is for those celebrating birthdays in January, February, and March, but if you missed your yearly screening, you can still attend. Henry County Office on Aging Blood Pressure Checks and Senior Stars Sign Ups

HCMC Community Educator and/or Paris and Henry County Healthcare Foundation Chronic Disease Nurse Case Manager will be available to take your blood pressure and discuss the results with you on the first and third Tuesday mornings of each month (schedule could be modified due to holidays). Additionally, our Senior Stars Coordinator Hailey Harrison will be on site to sign up those 55 and older for our Senior Stars program.  The cost is $10 and includes an annual screening, quarterly Dining Out with Senior Stars seminars, a discount in the cafeteria, and advanced notice of events and activities.  During this special sign up, the Henry County Office on Aging will pay the annual enrollment fee for those who attend the Office on Aging. All in attendance will even have the opportunity for a free Hernia Screening! You can help the men in your life get and stay healthier.  Men often need encouragement to participate in routine preventative care, including recommended screenings and assessments. Participants are screened every three months and receive education about their chronic conditions.   Anyone can show up the day of the screening to join the program.  All patients must be fasting for 8 hours to participate in the screening.
