Maternal/Newborn Unit
At HCMC, we are dedicated to personalized care for
both mom and family, which is provided in our comfortable labor, delivery
and recovery rooms. State-of-the-art technology is discreetly available
with fetal and maternal monitoring to ensure a safe and healthy delivery.
Fathers and coaches are encouraged to stay during the birthing process. And after your baby arrives, you may choose to have your newborn stay in the room with you or returned to the nursery, which is staffed with highly trained nurses whose one goal is the well-being of your baby.
Bright
Beginnings
If you are like most expectant
parents, you have a lot of questions. Bright Beginnings answers those questions
while helping celebrate the most important arrival of your life. We give you
a yard sign announcing the birth, and either a romantic candlelight dinner
for two, or a fruit basket delivered to your room.
You’ll also have the opportunity to enroll in our prepayment plan. As a plan member, mom will receive our Bright Beginnings gift certificates valued at more than $300, plus a free diaper bag stuffed with a blanket for baby and a scrub shirt for dad—and if he brings it to the hospital, we’ll even stamp your baby’s footprints on it!
Education is an important component of our Bright Beginnings program. Before, during and after your hospital stay, our staff helps you learn. Along with our informative newsletters, we offer childbirth education classes that cover preparation for labor and delivery, newborn care, care for mom and baby, breastfeeding, postpartum care, infant CPR and special nutritional advice for moms during and after pregnancy.
