Our Services
Imaging
HCMC imaging is staffed 24 hours/day and 7 days per week. Regular diagnostic exams (example chest x-ray) may be done on a walk-in basis at anytime. We schedule outpatient exams for ultrasound, nuclear medicine, mammography, cat scan and some diagnostic procedures from 7 am until 5 pm, Monday through Friday. In April, we will extend MRI scheduled hours until 10 pm.
HCMC imaging staffing includes: our imaging director, department manager, 11 diagnostic technologists, three mammography technologists, five ultrasound technologists, three MRI technologists, three cat scan technologists, two nuclear medicine technologists, PRN diagnostic technologists and four clerical support staff members.
We also serve as a clinical site for Jackson State Community College for the Radiologic Technology program. We have a full time clinical instructor and up to 12 students enrolled each year between the first and second year programs.
HCMC imaging offers testing in the following disciplines:
Diagnostic imaging
- Mammography.
- Bone density testing (DEXA).
- Ultrasound.
- Cat scan.
MRI
- Angiography and all surgical support services for imaging.
- Nuclear medicine.
Requests for outpatient testing must be made in writing from a referring physician. HCMC imaging will not accept verbal orders for testing. The request must be legible, requested tests must be clearly defined, must be signed by the requesting physician, must contain complete patient identification and must have a valid diagnosis code.
