To Henry County Medical Center
I would like to thank the entire staff of HCMC for my experience while staying with you. From my first minute to my last hour in your care I could not have asked for better care. Putting my illness aside, my stay was southern comfort and care at its best.
While walking into the emergency admitting someone saw my wife assisting me and came to the door to assist. Admitting was the quickest I have ever experienced. Nurses and doctors showed up to examine and begin care within minutes of admittance.
After admittance attending nurses worked as a team: all were friendly, conversant and caring while being professional. Nurses Carol Ann RN, Darlene RN, and Ruth Ann RN will remain in my memory for years to come. All future hospital visit will have to measure up to their level of care.
An example of care: Ruth Ann and I talked of cookies in a conversation while I was in her care. For dinner that evening I found oatmeal raisin cookies on my plate for dessert. She never mentioned ordering the cookies until I asked her if she was responsible.
Dr. Mengistu Yemane spoke in non-medical language, and care was expressed in a quiet warm smile of care. There was comfort in his “bedside manner”.
I did not catch the name of a second white coat who actually pulled up a chair to my bedside, spoke with me and actually touched me. She had red hair and her stature was certainly exceeded by her presence: a bedside apparition.
Thank all of you for taking care of me when I was in need. Especially during this time of epidemic.

“I drive from Stewart County, TN to have my mammo done here because from the moment I walk in I’m treated like I was family.  Great job!”

“In this day and time, all we hear on the news is about the violence and corruption.  The media swarms around that.  But there are people around our small West TN area that devote themselves to kindness and compassion.  We were able to witness those emotions as Henry Co. Home Health and Hospice came to help us in our need.  From the day St. Thomas brought granny home to her last moments on this earth, we were shown that kindness and compassion.  These individuals know who they are.  From the bottoms of our hearts, you all will never be forgotten.  We thank you all and want others to know there is still goodness out there.”

“I want to start by thanking the huge crew at the hospital that saved my life. I’ve been in 2 hospitals in California where you are treated like a number, I’m sure I would have died there. Everyone that came into my room was warm and caring, genuinely interested in my well-being. I can’t say enough about the staff at the hospital, I love them all and am eternally grateful.  Our situation was difficult having barely acquired a home here and still living and working in California. The staff in the hospital office went above and beyond to make everything work. Thanks to everyone who realized I needed to be released to my wife and to home care. Home care was the best decision I’ve made in a long time. When my wife was helping me from the car to our house I started to collapse in my wife’s arms, my pants fell down at the door and I said ‘did we make the right choice’? We did. The home care staff was amazing! Each one of them became good friends and made it possible for me to walk again and be delivered from oxygen. It’s really hard to single out any one person as being the best, although Brittany did bring me a watermelon and Megan brought chocolate covered bananas, everybody was exceptional!! We pray for all of you every night, I can’t imagine doing your jobs. All I can say is I can’t wait till we move here permanently and hopefully run into some of you at Walmart.”

“To 2nd East – Carolyn, Brandi, Trista, and Katie and everyone else on the floor – you all are fantastic.  Mom’s stay was pleasant, comfortable.  Thank you for “patience” with me and your understanding.  If mom has to be in the hospital I want her on 2nd and in the care of Dr. Yemane.  Also to LaVonne Cox – Café.  Dr. Justin Marlar.  Special thanks:  Dr. Yemane.  God Bless you all.”

“The nurses, doctors, social workers, and even the custodian staff are the most patient and kindest I have ever had during a hospital stay.  Group meetings were informative and a joy to attend.  Thank you to John and Connie.”
