Dr. Joe D. Mobley, III, Begins Practice With Father, Dr. Joe D. Mobley, Jr.
Paris, TN – Henry County Medical Center and Kentucky Lake Urology Clinic are proud to announce that Joe D. Mobley, III, MD, is joining his father, Joe D. Mobley, Jr., MD, in his urology practice this month.
Mobley, III was born in Memphis and received his education in Henry County, graduating from Henry County High School in 1995. He attended the University of the South in Sewanee, TN and was awarded a B.S. cum laude with a major in biology.
In 2001, at George Washington University in Washington, D.C., Mobley was awarded a Masters Degree in Public Health with a focus on International Health Policy. His dissertation was on Interagency Coordination in Response to International Natural Disasters.
Mobley received his M. D. in May 2005 at the University Of Tennessee College Of Medicine in Memphis, TN. He completed his general surgery internship and urology residency at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville Medical Center from 2005 to 2010.
Mobley has published manuscripts both on paper and online and has made podium and poster presentations for many regional, national and international meetings.
He holds society memberships in the Endourological Society, American Urological Association Southeastern Section, American College of Surgeons, Tennessee Medical Association, Knoxville Academy of Medicine and the American Medical Association.
The Mobley family has a long history in the Paris medical community. Mobley’s grandfather and uncle, Joe D. Mobley, Sr. and Paul Mobley respectively, helped establish East Wood Clinic in the 1950s. Keeping it all in the family, Dr. Joe Mobley, Jr. has practiced urology in Paris since 1983 and his wife, Karolyn is the administrator at his office. Their daughter, Leigh Ann Horton works at Kentucky Lake Urology Clinic as well. Their youngest daughter, Katherine Armour, lives in Somerville, TN and is a Physical Therapist.
The Mobley family moved here recently from Weston, Florida where Dr. Mobley held a Female and Reconstructive Urology Fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic. Joe and his wife, Janie and their two daughters, Louisa, age 3 and Harriett, age 18 months are excited to be home in Paris.
